bone-in chicken thighs (4pcs)
cayenne, 1/2 tsp
garlic powder, 2 tsp
paprika, 1 tsp
kosher salt, 3/4 tsp
extra-large onion, 1pc, sliced
cloves garlic, large and minced
olive oil, 2tbsp
collard greens, 12 cups, chopped
red pepper flakes, 1/2 tsp
chicken broth, 1 and 1/2 cups
Directions
- Start with pre-heating the oven. The preferred temperature for this recipe is 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Remove/trim the fat from the chicken thigh as much as possible.
- Now add the spices in a small bowl – garlic powder, kosher salt, paprika, onion, and cayenne powder to the cooked chicken. Mix well and rub into the chicken thighs. Then put the bowl aside.
- Add the garlic cloves and onion slices to a dutch oven. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Stir on medium heat until the garlic and onions are softened (around 5 minutes). Remove them from the pan when done and put them aside.
- Now rub the chicken thighs with the remaining olive oil and add it to the pan. Put the stove on medium heat and add the pan to brown the chickens lightly.
- Add the green to the pan and pour in the chicken broth for added flavor. Sprinkle the red chilli flakes and also the onions.
- Cover the Dutch oven and bring the simmer. Then place it in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until you find the chicken tender. Done!
